Installed on Timbertrove retail tills located in their on-site showrooms, this robust and accurate Electronic Point of Sale software solution is automatically polled by Sage 50. Automatic polling facilitates migration of critical data from those tills to the Sage 50 accounting solution for accounting purposes and analysis. This capability also eliminates the need for double entry of accounting information. Accurate histories also enable Timbertrove personnel to quickly access sales data for all individual retail customers. By understanding at a glance what a past customer has ordered (including historic sales revenue information), Timbertrove staff are able to better serve those customers, thereby increasing goodwill.
ACT! from Sage
This comprehensive customer relationship management software solution provides Timbertrove retail and trade sales staff with methods to track current and prospective customers, track sales calls, and plan future sales revenues. Integrated with Sage 50, all relevant customer information (including name, address, telephone number, quotation references, and similar) is automatically migrated to Sage 50 in order to eliminate double entry requirements, and to facilitate accurate invoicing and management reporting.
The Results Significantly Increased Productivity
Installed only a few months ago, the integrated Sage solution has been warmly received by Timbertrove, as Shirley explains. ‘ We are absolutely delighted with the results of our investment in this Sage solution, and for a number of reasons:
‘First, we found that the migration of data from Take Five to the new Sage solution was quick and accurate. The entire installation process was undertaken by people from Business Network Communications, and they smoothed the entire procedure.
‘Second, we are finding that the new solution is absolutely wonderful due to its ease of use, and increased functionality. For instance, month and year-end are now very easy to do. Solution navigation is very user friendly, and intuitive, and the entire layout of the solution is great. We are also taking advantage of the solution’s increased functionality. For instance, we use the Sales Purchase Order capability as a method of determining what business has been quoted, what has been landed, and by comparing that to cost of sales, how profitable each job is.
‘Sage 50 is also easy to edit and provides exceptional analytical capabilities. This means, for instance, that we can add in a creditor invoice to a month that has already been closed off, thereby providing us with highly accurate management information. Or, I can ask the solution to drill down into a specific date range, and for a particular debtor account. For instance, let’s say that I want to look at a particular debtor within a specific week in the year. The report will provide me with all transactions that took place within that week, and for that specific debtor.
‘Integrating the solutions has also provided us with exceptional increases in productivity as well as higher levels of management information. Because Sage Paypoint is integrated into Sage 50, we can determine almost in real time what lines are selling, what lines are more profitable, and what we might do to further satisfy our customers’ requirements. And because cash customer histories are available to Timbertrove personnel at the till point, we can quickly determine what our customers have ordered in the past. This allows us to quickly answer their questions, and also allows us to help them even more. Needless to say, this provides our customers with a very good impression of our service capabilities.’
